Heatstroke:

Heatstroke is a form of hyperthermia, caused by prolonged exposure to high termperatures or by doing physical activity in hot weather. It is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY! When your body reaches 104 F (40 C) or higher heatstroke occurs. In a period of hours heatstroke can cause damage to your brain, heart, kidneys, and muscles.


Who is at Risk:

Everyone! Infants, elderly, anyone working outdoors, sports teams, healthy young adults, everyone can be at risk.

Symptoms:

Heat Rash | Muscle Cramps or Weakness | Lack of Sweating | Nausea and Vomiting | Flushed Skin

Rapid Breathing | Racing Heart Race | Headache | Dizziness | Confusion
